Motion Design with 3D Camera (After Effects)
This project focuses on camera-driven motion design created using After Effects to enhance product presentation across e-commerce PDPs. A total of 36 SKUs were supported with 2D motion videos utilizing a simulated 3D camera workflow, designed to add depth, movement, and focus without the overhead of traditional video production. The motion approach was developed as a cost-efficient alternative to full videography, eliminating the need for physical shoots, voice-over artists, or licensed music, while still delivering high-impact, product-focused storytelling. Each video highlights key product angles, form, and features through controlled camera movement, guiding attention and improving visual clarity within marketplace environments. These motion assets played a direct role in improving PDP performance. Following the rollout, overall click-through rate (CTR) increased to 4.57% in March, up from 4.16% in February and 3.03% in January, indicating stronger engagement driven by improved visual communication. Despite a reduction in impressions during February and March compared to January, click volume remained strong, with 27,722 clicks recorded in March, demonstrating sustained buyer interest and improved conversion efficiency. This work demonstrates how low-cost, scalable motion design can significantly enhance e-commerce performance when executed with a strong focus on clarity, movement hierarchy, and user behavior, making it a practical and effective solution for large-scale product catalogs.
